A superb cycling holiday to Istria; the beautiful Adriatic peninsula situated in the northwest of Croatia; a region with an ancient history, stunning coastline and rolling countryside with medieval hilltop towns and villages.

Historically part of the Venetian Empire, Istria’s sleepy towns still retain an air of renaissance romanticism. Link these towns together with winding, traffic free roads and the ever present dramatic vistas and it’s easy to see what attracts people here.

We arrive in Pula on Istria’s southern coast before winding our way north through olive groves to Klostar. Heading inland our route takes us through Istria’s finest vineyards and into the Motovun forest. The second half of the week sees us tackle some of the ups and towns of Istria’s hilly interior and we end the trip on the coast in Rovinj, the pearl of Istria.

To compliment the cycling and completing the picture are fantastic evening meals which wait for us each night at our accommodation, which ranges from a restored Venetian palace to rural family-run agriturismi.
