We particularly appreciated his candid and frank answers to our incessant questions about Japanese culture, whether the questions were about food, etiquette or the Japanese mindset"

Accommodation - "We loved the variety and quality of the accommodation. At every level it exceeded our expectations. Our experience of it helped us a lot when we 'went solo. for a week afterwards.
Food - "The food was uniformly great. Given that 'When in Rome, do as the Romans did..', we soon got used to cold fish, and hot soup for breakfast. Starting with more Western breakfasts in Kyoto was helpful though". Diners at thr Ryokans, minshuku, YHA and YMCA were excellent and exceeded our expectationsin all cases"
Bikes - "Very good bikes, well matched for the riding conditions, very attentively maintained by Vincent and expertly adjusted to the rider (e.g. the rear cassettes were replaced to give a lower bottom gear).

Tour Leader - Vincent  "One of the best tour leaders i have ever had on a cycling trip(of which there have been many). he led the tour in a relxed and friendly way and tried at all times to meet the requirements of the group but was extremely professional and safety conscious. He had a wide knowledge of the culture and language of Japan."
