It was only a matter of time before cyclists could start to enjoy the magnificent cycling route along the ‘Spine of England’ well here it is, the Pennine cycleway holiday.
Appleby-in-Westmorland to Berwick upon Tweed, this 150 miles cycling route is part of the National Cycle Network, Pennine Cycleway North. The cycling holiday route takes in some of the most spectacular landscapes and unspoilt countryside that England has to offer. Taking you through the green and pleasant Eden Valley, the dramatic North Pennines, the South Tyne Valley, past Hadrians Wall and through the Northumberland National Park and the foothills of the Cheviots.
Finally you wind your way through the Scottish Borders to end at the historic border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed on the magnificent Northumberland Coast.
